Frequently Asked Questions

Morestone stocks a lot of components of a wall. We have a pre-cast facility that can form and pour your panels quickly. With the due attention you deserve for your project, and considering factors we don’t have control over, we can be on site as quickly as you need us to be.
Morestone has the Licences, experience and insurances required to construct your retaining wall to an exceptional quality

Morestone has the excavators, track loaders, trucks, and site vehicles needed to complete your project.

Morestone has retaining wall designs to "cover all the walls we build". We can accommodate your "engineering plans" if you have them, but either way, "we will ensure" the design is right for your project.

Depending on the application for your wall, we have solutions that work well for different wall heights. We like to suggest concrete sleeper wall for between 200mm and up to 1.6m tall, then concrete panels are a very efficient option for 1.6m and up to 3m tall. However, the use of the wall and the surcharge loading can affect these decisions
Morestone loves a wall to go up quick. Concrete sleeper walls are quick, but a pre-cast L shaped concrete wall is even quicker to install

Morestone generally chooses not to install concrete segmental block walls, our focus is on the ‘King Post’ style wall, or walls with pre-cast concrete L shaped panels

There are many factors that can influence the cost of your retaining wall, such as, style of wall, engineering specified, the use of the wall, the size and volume of the project, access for machines and trucks, just to name a few. However, to give an idea of cost, Concrete sleeper walls range from $400/m2 to $600/m2, Pre-cast concrete panels walls range from $580/m2 and up to $900/m2

Morestone will gladly assist you with the products you need to install your own wall. If you have construction experience, access to the right equipment, and the willingness to build your wall, we would be more than happy to supply a kit for your project.

Different local councils have different rules relating to retaining walls. Your local council can advise you what approvals are needed for your wall

If your wall is built correctly, it will last. The main factor in a wall failing is poor drainage. We cannot stress enough how critical proper drainage is. Water needs to be directed away from behind your wall.

This is a question that you may need to ask your local council, but generally you must keep the whole wall including the piers and footings within your boundary limits. Sometimes this means you lose a small amount of land, but with a few specialised techniques Morestone has developed, this is kept very minimal
Morestone has a complete wall and fence solution so you can put your fence on top of your wall. Fence installers love this as it makes their job so easy

Concrete products can be painted very successfully. Your local hardware store or paint supplier can advise on this
